The Sea of Thieves developers have stated that they wanted this region to feel darker and more threatening, with near-permanent cloud cover and dead native plant life.The Wilds is home to two Outposts, two Seaposts, three Fortresses, two Siren Shrines, one Siren Treasury, two Sea Forts, and 16 uninhabited Islands. Memories of Captain Briggsy from The Secret Wilds adventure indicate that The Wilds’ environment was once identical to that of The Ancient Isles and The Shores of Plenty. The Wilds is home to the savage and dull coloured Fish called Wildsplashes. Before the spread of goods across all Regions, The Wilds were the only place to purchase Sea Dog type Items. Islands are land locations that serve as some of the most common destinations for Quests and World Events. The Wilds Region is under the control of the Order of Souls Trading Company. The flora of the islands is largely wilted with most notable landmarks being the skeletons of beached sea monsters. The Islands in the Wilds are semi-fortified and haunted, containing the remains of many deceased pirates who tried to brave the region. The Wilds is a harsh and miserable environment with green-yellowish seas and constantly overcast clouds, giving it a dark and gloomy atmosphere. The Wilds is one of the main Regions in The Sea of Thieves located on the Northeastern region of the World Map. Every new Riddle Map only has one line visibly printed on it, telling Crews of a single Large Island in The Sea of Thieves.
